Sometimes on the Race, God gives you little gifts of amazing opportunities you never thought you would get to have. Sometimes they are powerful moments, like praying over someone and seeing them get healed. But sometimes they are just fun, little presents just to make you smile.
My team mate and I had such an experience while in Rwanda this month. We got invited to a film festival and spent an evening hanging out with all the famous Rwandan actors and actresses, the best directors and crews in the country, and we got to hear all about their passions and talents and how they want to build the culture in their nation. This was such a special treat, as we are usually working around the more under privileged population in the countries we visit and don't get to see much of the aspect of the local people trying to build up cultural influence and prosperity in their own country. We got invited to attend a movie screening the following day called IMBAZZI, a film based on the genocide that occurred in Rwanda in 1994. The director was 8 years old at the time and witnessed the murder of his father. So he wants the world to know the story of what happened in Rwanda, not just to get awareness out, but to show the power of forgiveness. In this small nation, people live in joy and love side by side just less than 20 years after a horrific genocide in which over 1 million people were slaughtered. The forgiveness and rebuilding that has taken place here is powerful.
Also through the month, I preached 3 sermons, did 2 radio broadcasts that reach all of Rwanda and Uganda, shared my testimony with the girls at a sewing school in our church, loved on kids, visited people in their homes, prayed for the sick and watched them get well, heard clearly from God out of His Word, shared a testimony about my nephew's heart surgery etc. God really stretched me and blew my mind this month. This was a powerful month and I look forward to what God has in store for us in Uganda!

Weekend spent visiting another WR team out in their village.
We are entering Month 8 of our journey. Much of our costs are not covered in the money raised to travel on the trip. Food, doctor visits, any personal needs, tourist activities, all these things come out of our pocket. If you would like to help me fund the rest of my time of this trip, please email me at [email protected] for information on how you can get money to me. Thanks and God bless!
