The Question: “What are your plans after the Race is over?”
I
Don’t
Know
I wrote a blog about this before my journey began. I wrote a blog about not knowing. You can read it
here.
This time it’s different. This time I don’t know what I’m doing when I’m home. I don’t know what I’m doing when I’m supposed to adjust to normal again. I don’t know what I’m doing when I’ve always known what I’m doing. It’s easy to not know on the Race, and almost second nature to just accept that you never really know what’s going on. But when I’m in charge of it, when it determines my life and future, it’s unnerving not to know. I’m at debrief in Nairobi. We got our “re-entry” packets to begin processing through. Everyone around me is talking about their future plans, where God’s called them, amazing things they’re going to be doing to bring the Kingdom. I sit back and I realize I don’t know what I’m going to do!
One thing I know: God knows.
I have ideas of what I can do. I have options for immediate when I get home. But I want to dream bigger.
But not now. I decided that this month, my one month in Uganda, I am not going to plan my future. I am not going to know what I’m doing in 3 months when I step off the plane on US soil. I am going to focus on the ministry here. I am going to love on the people here. I am going to focus on my relationship with God here.
So don’t bother asking me. :).

We went to a Rugby championship match. The Rhino’s won. Ironic? I think not. 🙂
