Hola!!!
Here’s what up. Yesterday I left my family and friends behind in the US, and flew through Dallas to LAX, where I got to meet up with my team. Luckily, I like them quite a bit, so it was good just getting to see everyone again after the 2 months since training camp. We checked our bags again, and at 1:30 AM (Westcoast time-3:30am Midwest time) we flew out. Apparently they wanted to give us the effects of jetlag for our first part of the trip, flying us this way and that way on little sleep. After a short layover in El Salvador, we landed in Guatemala City, Guatemala, loaded up in vans and drove to Antigua, where we were reunited with the rest of our team (leaders and logistics/finance came out earlier). We had a brief briefing and went for lunch. Felt like it should be dinner, followed by a long night’s sleep, but alas, we have the afternoon to blog and nap before worship this evening. The weather is great, just ending their rainy season, we made it in time for ‘winter.’ I have a feeling this is gonna be my style of winter!

UPDATE! We found out at our ministry meeting today that on Wednesday we will be taking a bus to El
Salvador where we will spend the month in San Salvador! SURPRISE! They teach you one thing on the World Race: FLEXIBILITY! My team is really excited to work with TeenChallenge, orphans, preaching, door to door ministry, and the like. It’s going to be a great month, even though it wasn’t what was initially planned! 🙂
Pictures are coming.
FYI: We’re doing a mandatory ‘screen fast’ to break the habits of the screen…Heaven knows I’ll need it, but you might not hear from me for 2 days. Rest assured, I will update as often and when I can!
Prayer requests: emotional adjustment to life on the Race and being away from everyone I care about. Travel by bus to Guatemala City and then San Salvador
Thanks again for your support. If you’d like to give financially, you can adopt my team and or help out my teammate Shaun specifically “http://shaunfrederickson.theworldrace.org”
