The stage was set. The youth had been hanging multi colored light bulbs above the pulpit outside in the patio all day long. There were posters declaring God’s love hanging behind the altar. The air was brisk and the stars shone brightly. The chairs were all filled whether that was with Peruvians or Americans. We had sung worship songs declaring that we were free. The preacher gave a call for people to come to the front if they wanted to be prayed over to experience release from the bondage of their sin. One by one, nervous young Peruvians came to the front and stood in a straight line. Something in my spirit longed to be with them and throw my arms around them.

I couldn’t wait any longer. I stood up and half walked- half ran to a sobbing teenage girl in a purple sweater and a pink scarf. I knew that the Holy Spirit in me wanted to comfort her so I wrapped her in an embrace and let her sob into my chest. I knew that she was finally feeling release from the shackles of her sin. Even though we spoke different languages, it didn’t matter. I took myself out of the equation and let the Holy Spirit work through me. As I prayed over this trembling girl, closed my eyes, and turned my face towards the heavens God was speaking to me. A white light washed over me and I clearly heard the words that God spoke. God said, “Some people search their entire lives for the meaning to life and their purpose. My daughter, I have created you for this. To show my love to those that you encounter.”

God has made us so that we can be his hands and feet. So that we can be the manifestation of His love to other people so that they can experience His love in a tangible way. The miracle that occurred last night had nothing to do with me. I was just blessed enough to be chosen as a vessel that God used to show His love to that beautiful girl.

God’s purpose will prevail no matter what but you could be the vessel that He uses to accomplish His plan. Just listen when God tells you to move and be willing to take that step. You were made for this.

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”- Esther 4:14
