Day 165: I wasn’t able to go out to ministry today because I had several important phone calls with people in the states, but I did get a lot of prep done for life after the race (apartment applications, FAFSA for grad school, researching possible employment) lots of decisions to make in the next 5 months! I also helped cook dinner for the 13 people living in my house this month.

Day 166: We went into the city to do street evangelism. We spent several hours talking to people we met about Jesus and then inviting them to attend a worship service on Saturday night. I was surprised how many people in the city speak English. In the evening, we prayed for Sara as we welcomed her in as our new Squad Leader (working alongside Christin).

Day 167: Matt, Nick, Britni and I travelled back to the Gypsy village. We returned to the house of Aldie (the dying man) and met his whole extended family. We prayed for them and sang a few worship songs (more on this experience coming in my next blog). We also went to visit Joseph’s family and spent time playing games, praying, and singing there as well. Tonight, Amaris got pulled up as our new team leader.. she is sure to bring some Latin rhythm to Team Sound!

Day 168: We spent the day bonding with our new team leader Amaris! In the evening we helped lead a Hungarian church service (that lasted for 2 1/2 hours). Matt, Rebecca and I led worship. Three of our teammates also shared testimonies.

Day 169: We had Bible study in the morning and then I spent several hours getting caught up on blogging and communication with friends in the states and around the world! P.S. in Romania… a lot of people travel between villages by horse and hang their clothes out to dry in a snowy tree.

Day 170: Went to a new village today and met several gypsy families who invited us into their homes. One of them showed us a Bible that is almost 100 years old. We also found puppies at one of the houses and Maggie caught a rooster.

Day 171: Went into town to do street evangelism/invite people to church. We also met several high school students who want to get coffee later this week.

Day 172: Travelled to my favorite village to visit Aldie’s family and Joseph’s family. I had printed pictures for both of them. I also met several other new gypsy families who invited us in to pray for them. The last picture is the entire inside of a house (where a woman and 4 children live).

Day 173: We partnered up with a few staff from WYAM to go do hospital outreach. We were given a room that we held a worship service in and we all took turns going to people’s rooms to pray. In the evening, we went to see the symphony orchestra (our contact was able to get us free tickets).

Day 174: A few of us partnered up with WYAM again to go visit an orphanage. Most of the children were school aged, so we help with homework and played board games. We were also able to watch three of them open presents that were delivered from operation Christmas child.

Day 175: Kat and I went downtown during the day to explore, but found that much of the city is shut down on Saturday. Thus we ended up at the once place that is always open… McDonalds. In the evening we helped to lead the church service. Matt, Rebecca and I led worship and Pastor Zumbor gave the message.
