Change is inevitable… Change is good… but change is also hard.
My life changed the moment I made the decision to follow God’s call to go to the nations and it changed again when I was crazy enough to actually get on the plane.
Being away from family and friends is hard (especially during the holidays), but on The World Race, your team quickly becomes a family. However, at the beginning of the month, my family changed. The team of six (Team H.O.P.E.) I had been with since training camp would no longer be on the journey together. Yet, God always has an amazing way of bringing new people together for a greater plan.
I am now ministering alongside a family of bold and beautiful women. We all agree that if we had sat down last month to write out our perfect team this would not be it, but in less than a day we fell in love with each other and can’t get over how perfect we actually are. As we started sharing our testimonies, we sat in shock at the way God had brought us together in this place. We come from such similar pain and struggles, but we also find joy in the same things. We all love chocolate, aren’t afraid to speak our minds and we all love to write (maybe we will write a team book this year). We have a crazy sense of adventure and love to laugh, which may also explain why we enjoy sitting around in our hair weaves talking in funny accents. Everyday, we eagerly await "family time," and joke that there is no way any of the other teams love each other as we do. But, most importanly, we are all being redeemed and transformed into a clearer picture of who God calls us to be.
As a team, we believe that we are called to be Abba’s song into the nations. He has called us to be a heart beat, a SOUND OF STRENGTH.

I will miss Team H.O.P.E., but God’s plan is sooo good. I can’t wait to look back and see the growth that is going to happen on Team Sound of Strength over the next 8 months!
