Last week I had coffee with a good friend and mentor of mine. He spent three months in Africa back in the fall and had some good things to advise me on as I prepare for the World Race. Something I really walked away with is that the World Race is a big adventure in front of me, but it isn’t the sole purpose of my life. It’s not like the World Race is the culmination of my spiritual journey. It could actually be preparing me for something even greater or better to come. So as I prepare for the race, I’m looking to figure out how I can best keep my eyes focused on the cross – how I’ll refocus in times of turmoil and doubt.

So to current racers and alumni racers, I pose this question to you: how did you keep your focus on Jesus, not on your team or yourself or the ministry you’re working for that month?
