I expect things a lot and I have high expectations. That’s a problem…most of the time. Other times, it gives me great hope for the things to come. Between reading blogs from other World Racers, talking to a friend who’s on it now, and my own experiences with travel, there are expectations seeping from every pore in my body. I’ve been joking that I’m not going to sleep until I leave in July for the race because there’s so much to think about. So many expectations to consider. What are my expectations for the race? Well I’ll just give you my top eleven expectations as to not keep you reading for hours and hours.

1. I’m expecting God to SHOW UP in some ways I’ve never seen before.
2. I’m expecting Ireland to be mostly Westernized and therefore to have showers and toilets.
3. I’m expecting to find my special place in India.
4. I’m expecting to make some of the best friends I’ve ever had.
5. I’m expecting to fall in love with Jesus and rely on Him wholly.
6. I’m expecting that living in community is going to be hard.
7. I’m expecting to have a clearer view of where God wants me to go after the race.
8. I’m expecting that goodbyes will be super difficult every month.
9. I’m expecting some hardcore, profound, kingdom come worship.
10. I’m expecting to get frustrated by language barriers.
11. I’m expecting re-entry to crush me for a while but more because of leaving my team than being overwhelmed by the American culture.
