We found out today there are 8 Starbucks in Cheng Mia and for us thats exciting and we will probably have electricity all the time instead of an hour a night and if we are lucky we might have real showers instead of showering from a bucket! and we are doubtful but hopeful there will be at least a fan and a fridge in Thailand. when you go without them the little things mean so much. I found a slushy icey cold drink the other day it was so amazing to drink something cold, its about 100 degrees everyday and we drink water that is about 80 degrees so that was a treat.
Haiti is getting better for me, on Sunday we woke up at 5am got dressed and walked 6 miles in the trash and mud to catch a 12 passenger van to drive 2 and a half hours to go and preach at our translators church in the mountains, Haitians drive CRAZY!! there are no seatbelts and they lay on thier horn and just pass everyone at about 90 miles and hour at one point my team leader literally screamed, it was scary: but it was so lovely in the mountains one of the ladies cooked for us and it was the best meal we have had, beet salad and bannanas and chicken so fresh it still had some feathers on it with beans and rice, of course, and passion fruit juice. they were so hospitable. We also got to do a home visit and pray for healing over a lady with bad arthritis, that was just a sweet time as well.
We also had a beach day on Saturday we paid 3 american dollars for a day at a clean beach. It was amazing. the water was so clear you could see the bottom with no problem, I had a national geographic moment watching a small crab be torn apart by four large fish, it was so cool!
Our ministry for this week is playing with kids during thier recess at a school and preaching at a revival. I volunteered to preach I think I am going to on Thursday night, I havent written my message yet but Im sure it will be good. I am not nervous at all, even though Ive never preached before.
Nightly we do a Prophetic hot seat for one girl in our house, it is so good. Its not only a great way to encourage and call each other up, but also a great excercise on hearing the Lord and tuning in to the Holy Spirit. This kinda thing is not new to me, but its amazing to watch some of the other girls who are not accustomed to listening to what the Holy Spirit has to say grow and break out of the legalismn and other boxes thier past environments unknowingly put them in.
God is so good. I am so blessed to be where I am at. I have come out of my own boxes of insecurity and am being called into my destiny. Still asking for prayers for protection we hear voodoo ceromonies from our house almost nightly. I also still am in need of over $8000 to be fully funded prayers are also welcome for that! sending my love.
