Spent our first two days relaxing with the LONG FAMILY. They run the "Kids Internation Ministries" here in Manila, Philippines. They, with the help of some previous WORLD RACERs.,have dedicated their lives to helping improve the lives of the Fillippino children.
They provided us delicious healthy meals & dessert. Gave us beds and showers. Then gave us a tour of their work/programs.
Loaded up into trucks and vans to see the schools, churches, and Shelters run by K.I.M.
A childrens Library and Computer Center provided through donations. Designed and built by an architect with a dream to make a difference.
JOSIE'S ANGELS – A home for girls who come from abusive families. Below I am with JOSIE LONG the founder of this program.
We walked through the extremely impoverished comunity on a road built by previous World Racers. This road has saved the lives of many children. Giving them a healthier place to walk instead of through waste.

I was so impressed by the programs in place but so overwhelmed by all that still needs to be done. Josie also started a spa. The local women are trained and have a location where they do nails, hair, massages etc. I got two, 1 hour foot massages and a pedicure. The other Ladies of Light took advantage of the full body massages. $4 for a one hour foot massage. This will feed her family for a day. We plan to stop back by on our way out and get a few more in October before we leave.
Taught the girls @KIM how to make peanutbutter/chocolate chip cookies. Then they sold them. Didn't have all the tools or ingredients I was used to but they turned out great. Thank God!
Then the Ladies Of Light decide to go out for dinner on the town. We had to take the local transportation.
First a ride on a trike (watch video.) All 6 of us HAD to take one trike so Ashley and I are hanging on the back ledge. Then a ride on a jeepny (colorful van)
