In Romania we worked with an American missionary named John and his Romania wife, Tootsie.  They have an adorable 2 year old boy and lots of love and compassion for the people of Viile Tecii.

While staying at John’s several of us camped in his back yard…the future home of a school/factory for the women of the community as well as a boarding school for boys and future world race teams.  John wants to build a two-story building to use for this purpose in his backyard.  We got to help start the project by building a retaining wall to hold the foundation of the building soon to be constructed.

John has a desire to equip the local women with skills and jobs to provide for their families and to teach them responsibility and work ethic.  Many of the people in this village are poor and some even have resorted to begging to provide food and clothing for their families.  About 70 % of the population is Gypsy, which means they are considered second class citizens and have to struggle to make it in this country.  These people are no different than you or I.  They are God’s creations just as much as we are.  So I would ask that you pray for them.  Pray that they feel God’s love and that they rely on Him to provide all of their needs, and pray for the culture in this country.
