I just want to send out a thank you to the Algarra family, Pastor Al and his family and the Burke family in the Philippines who were so gracious to us and such kind and generous hosts.  I really am glad I had the chance to get away from the city and its pollution (can you see the ring of smog around the skyline in the pictures?).

I loved the fact that I could take a walk early in the morning by myself and feel safe (a nice quiet neighborhood).

I enjoyed playing with the Burke’s puppies and getting blessed to see brandnew newborns one morning in the laundy room.

I appreciated the cultural experiences like eating chicken feet and, yes…balut.  For anyone who doesn’t know what balut is, Wikipedia describes it as “a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell.”  Gross, I know…but I ate it!  Here are some pictures from Wikipedia…

So thanks to everyone who helped give Tikvah a great experience in the Philippines!
