I have just finished spending a few days in Siem Riep, Cambodia, resting and processing through the last month of ministry. We were blessed with the privilege of staying at a nice, air 
conditioned hotel for a great discounted rate. I was happy to be able to swim every morning and get some good exercise without having to sweat to death in this weather!
We spent a day touring the temple ruins at Angkor Wat. For those who don’t know, “Tomb Raider” was filmed here and there are several places around town you can purchase drinks or other items named after Angelina Jolie. And at almost every street market you can find numerous copies of the movie for sale. The temple ruins themselves are interesting, though I must admit I am not really into that sort of thing. As a nature person, I would much rather visit a national park or scenic place of some sort instead of man-made structures. It was worth the cultural experience, though.
After leaving Cambodia, we returned to Bangkok and also took a tour of modern temples here in the city. It saddens me 
to see all the work and money that goes into these things, money that I believe would be better off spent improving the state of the country. Once again I had no real desire to spend too much time looking at these man-made structures, so I spent a lot of my time praying for the country, and taking pictures of the flowers and nice water-structures they had (I tried to pretend I was really in the wild, but that’s real hard when you are in a big city with lots of people and noise!) I am definitely looking forward to getting out of the city for awhile!
