¨I give you this charge: Preach the Word, be prepared in season and out of season;¨ -2 Timothy 4:1b-2

Our main focus for ministry this month as been the little farming community we walk to every morning.  Every afternoon we walk back ready to rest, relax and get chores done like laundry, cleaning house, cooking, etc.  We´ve discovered, though, that ministry isn´t done when we leave that farm.  God has others for us to minister to.

There are kids constantly wanting our attention.  Whether that be our neighborhood kids, or the street kids who are craving love and affection.  Even though I can´t speak much of their language, I´ve found many creative ways to have fun with them.  We´ve played charades or pictionary to help me learn Spanish words.  We´ve also enjoyed hours of hand games and lots of ¨UNO¨.  And sometimes all they want is a hug and a little bit of my time.

Last night, though, God brought a man to us to minister to. Our group was waiting in the park for the pizza place to open, getting ready to play a game when all of the sudden this man walk up to us and started speaking to us.  With the limited Spanish knowledge on our team we managed with God´s help to understand that he wanted to be saved.  My teammate, Nate stepped out in faith and spoke what he could in his broken Spanish about the Gospel and led the man to Christ!!

Now it could just be that because San Juan isn´t a tourist city, this man just assumed we had to be missionaries, but I believe that God drew Him to us for a reason.  We didn´t need any great words or knowledge…we just needed the basics and that´s all it took.  AMEN!
