I don’t really
know how it happened but it did. About 3 years ago I was searching for a
way to get to Ireland. I went to Google and searched “Trips to
Ireland” expecting to find some tourist trip. After searching for a little
while I stumbled upon the AIM website and found a trip going to Ireland.
It was kind of strange because I really wasn’t looking for a missions trip more
just a vacation. After lots of prayer and talking to my parents I applied for
the trip and didn’t get in. I decided that God wanted me to focus on
School instead. I found a school in Portland Oregon called Cascade College, a
very small Christian college. Unfortunately my academics didn’t become my main
focus. There were clubs at the school, almost like Sorority’s and Fraternities
but not. One of the clubs was devoted to being servants of God and his people
so with much prayer I joined the club Delta Sigma Rho and became very much
involved with helping my sisters as well as the work they were doing in
downtown Portland. At the end of the school year I decided to stay in San Diego
to finally focus on school and academics. During the school year of 08 and 09
my younger brother went on a missions trip to Nicaragua through AIM. I saw how
much he grew in his faith and enjoyed the wonderful country. He started helping
me in my faith and walk with Jesus. Towards the end of his trip he sent me
information about the world race trip that was leaving in August. Caleb told me
about it March so I decided to look for another trip that that would give me
more time to prepare. This time I really felt like God was telling me something
so I looked and I found the January 2010 trip that was going to so many amazing
places I felt  God was calling me to. My heart has been pulled
toward focusing on God and his plan for me and I’m  excited to finally embark
into his world and do his work in it.
