[the squad leaders & i at the carnivore- a delicious restaurant in Nairobi.]

Yes, I am still here. Still learning, loving, & carrying my unreasonably heavy backpack around the world.

I have been in Kenya for two weeks now & it has been uniquely busy. I apologize for the lack of updates. The first week was packed full with debrief responsibilities & catching up with my fellow squad mates. The second week looked a little differently with most of my time being consumed by sleep. Yes, that’s right. I’ve been in and out of constant slumber for about a week now. This is, of course, because I have been sick.

No need to worry- I am OK & on the upswing. While it hasn’t been fun, I am most definitely not complaining. This is my first time being sick this year, which I’d say is pretty lucky considering some of the conditions & food we experience.

The worst part of being sick has been the time away from my team. About a week ago, they traveled on to our ministry site on Kenya’s east coast, Mpeketoni Lamu, while I stayed behind to recover in Nairobi. From their repots, Lamu sounds beautiful & the people sound wonderful. My team has been doing any & all kinds of ministry including work in local churches, schools, hospitals, HIV/AIDS clinics, & even some construction here & there.

I’m excited to rejoin my team & get started with this months ministry. More updates to come!
