¡Felicidades Mis Amigos!
Today is Cinco de Mayo- which just so happens to be my third favorite holiday! (Actually St. Patrick’s Day and Cinco de Mayo tie for my third favorite, but that’s another story.) Anyways, those of you who know me know that I NEVER miss an opportunity to throw a fiesta & this year was certainly no exception.
[lana & mustaches. just a few of my favorite things.]
While being in Thailand made party planning slightly more difficult, my team & I were up to the challenge. I was nervous for a moment, when I walked the grocery store aisles, two of which were dedicated entirely to ramen noodles packaged in foiled bags adorned with dragon ball z anime characters. (Unfortunately, I am not kidding- this is the reality of my Asian life. Ha) But with some major innovation & our culinary powers combined, we managed to pull off a Mexican feast complete with homemade tortillas & salsa! Check out this delicious spread….
The evening ended perfectly with sombreros, mustaches, lots of dancing, laughter, & an unnecessary amount of shouting arbitrary Spanish words at the top of our lungs (“¡ARRIBA!”). What could be better?
[the ladies of team powerhouse.]
So thank you Mexico for unexpectedly beating the French in the small Battle of Puebla giving reason for this wonderful day in which Americans mistakenly celebrate your independence- you are great.
[i might love cinco de mayo. i just might.]
