India was one of those difficult countries. It was one of those countries that its difficult to find hope in. Its there, but you just have to look for it.

I'll begin with the worst part of India. The put it plainly, the hindus serve a crapload of gods. They serve so many that undoubtedly, they dont remember them all.  When we tell them about Jesus, they consider Him just another god and put a statue of Him on the wall next to the countless other gods they have up there. Its frustrating, really. Hours spent telling them about Him and hours spent nodding their heads and agreeing with us and the next day we see a statue of Jesus up next to the others, or when they've agreed to take down the others, we see that they're still up there. It was difficult to keep going day after day when we knew that the same statues would be sitting in the same spots and the same mindset of the existence of millions of gods would still be ingrained into their minds. That was the worst part of India. It was not seeing the change we so badly wanted to see.

The best part of India was actually seeing that change. I'm not talking about a conversion. I'm talking about a pre-existing belief in Jesus and in Him only. After days and days of visiting the people in the town we were in, we finally found one who said that she believes in Him and there is no room for another; that there is nothing without Him. Do you know how good that home visit was?! It was great! It was refreshing for all of us and it brought hope that there was a possibility of change for India. Please read this blog I wrote about this visit!
