For our first month on the World Race, Team Monarch, along with C Squad headed to the Dominican Republic. My team's ministry for the month is to visit remote villages in the mountains to essentially cultivate a field for the next group to plant seeds. This might include, but not be limited to, speaking to the locals on an individual basis, speaking in the church(es) in the villages, or simply spending time with the children.
This week my team and I visited two villages-Gajo De Monte and El Gramazo and ended up having a very productive and amazing week!

After a two hour drive in the back of a truck with feet dangling over the side and the cliff just feet away, we arrived at Gajo De Monte, high up in the mountains. For our first night in this village, we stayed in the home of a relative of a pastor from our base city-Padre Las Casas.

The next day, we headed out to see who we might be able to speak to and began with the pastor of the single church in the village. Finding out where he is spiritually as well as where the people of the village are spiritually was our intention. That day we visited three other people and had the opportunity to cirlce up and pray for each of them.
That night, after heading back to the home we were staying in, our team decided to hike to the top of a nearby mountian and watch the sunset. It was one of the most amazing sights I'd ever seen and I will never forget it. How beautiful a God we have when we stare from the tops of peak to the miles and miles of mountains!!! The beauty is inexplicable.

Early the next day, we left Gajo De Monte and drove onto our next village-El Gramazo. This village was even higher up in the mountains and took an additional 2 hours to get to-travelling on the rockiest and steepest road I have ever been on.
In this village, Team Monarch was able to perform a brief skit, depicting Adam and Eve and how sin came to be. We performed it in front a group from the village with our translator, Manuel, reading from Genesis in Spanish as one from our team read in English. Afterwards, Manuel did an outstanding job in summarizing the skit and to end it, one man came forward and accepted Christ ๐
That night, we camped in our tents on a hill with a 360 degree view of mountains towering over us. Again, one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. It was perfect, despite the 50-70 mph winds we endured all night ๐

Just a brief idea of what my team and I have been doing this month! Also, I'm currently sitting at $8700 and really want to thank everyone for donating to bring me to where I am today. If you feel led, please continue to support me. I still need about $2300 by April 1st and around $6800 overall by July 1st. Thank you ๐
