I have been wanting to write this for awhile but didnt have the words. The folowing is a spoken word based on what i have seen in L.A and here back home in the last few months.
Walkin to the liquer store all they think they see is a whore, they dont see that invisible leash going from her to a crack pipe. When they look at him all they see is a homeless unmedicated luinitic. But i know someone who sees differantly. He dosn’t see the marks on there arms or the men she has laid with that arnt even aquaintences. He don’t see the ounce of crack bought with the money you told me was for baby food. He dosnt see your completely strung out when you walk into his house and say bro i messed up. Ok let me slow down, he sees it, but he looks past it. He looks past all the fleshly drama and baby mama business and sees people who need him and his love more than any drug.
Who is this man? He is Jesus christ. The same Christ that walked the earth over 2500 years ago and was murderd for the sin of man, that dude is here and alive. He is saying come home child, put down your burden and come to me.
Its through him ive seen men go from slinging dope to slinging hope, i have seen charges dropped and people who were destined to die get up and walk. The same God that helped saul turn into paul is the same God that helped people i know go from heroin to Doing lines of the bible. People think that im religious talking like this, Religious? realy? i’ll tell you what religion is, religion is confessing to a man to forgive you when thats a load of crap. men cant forgive you for your sins, Jesus is who you take that up with. Religion says if your high you cant come to church, Jesus says we are the church, love your neighbour even if their high. Religion is dead men trying to become alive by putting money in the plate and thinking thats their salvation.
Whats so hard about loving one another? just cause there homelsess or on meth, does that make you holier than thou? seems like the church has a lot of white washed tombs. Their walking zombies without any pulse of truth in there body.
Most of us know Christ is full of love, but following him doesnt come easy. Peter and Jon both signed there death warrants when they picked up there cross. Life with him aint easy but its the only life i’ll live. To live is Christ and to die is gain, give all that you got to give. Ill wrap this up so the legalists stop puking, just remeber though you forfeit your life, you inherit eternal life, chew on that for a bit.
