So yesterday was good friday, the day Jesus died. (Ok its probably not historically the exact day, but its the day we recognize it) Me and my roommate went down to hollywood since we had the day off. We were walking around, just kinda people watching.  We were watching a street performer when we saw Jesus across the street, literally. A man dressed in a cloth, a Jesus wig and a crown of thorns carrying a cross was walking the streets of hollywood.
I felt the need/urge to follow this guy and talk to him. So we finished looking around the shops and such and then went looking for Jesus.

We found him down the road, introduced ourselves to him and his assistant dude and we followed/talked with them for a long ways. It turns out "Jesus" is a pastor named George who does crucifixion reenactments all over thew world.

We walked with them and passed out cards for the upcoming show, talked, and me personally i was extremely taken back by the whole thing. Yes it wasn't The literal physical Jesus, yes it was a reenactment of sorts, but that symbolism and visual spoke louder than any sermon, any crusade or word could of ever spoke that day. Peoples reactions were everything from awesome amen to four letter words.

My response to the nay sayers and crap talkers is this: Yes Jesus is alive, i know george is not him, but this is a physical representation of what Jesus Christ did for you two thousand years ago on Calvary. Its to show those who don't know what he did for them. Its not about us, our glory or anything of that sort. Its to tell the world of Christ's love and sacrifice for them. If everyone knew and believed then the world wouldn't be how it is today. THATS why he/we was doing that.

It was a surreal and beautiful moment. When we walked back to his house we prayed for one another. The holy spirit came down like a flood, it was beautiful, that last few hours of our day yesterday was the most amazing, impactful  Good Friday i've ever experienced. So i'll close with this: remember good friday, and have a great easter. But also don't limit remembering/rejoicing what christ did for us to just one or two days. Its a lifestyle of grace and love given through him. until i blog again, love you guys -Jesse
