So, I got out of the boat and decided to walk in the unknown- but before too long I found myself sinking!

“Could I really have this little faith?” I questioned. “I just started my fundraising journey and already I want to turn back!”

I knew I could not turn back from what I was called out of my comfort zone to do but, in the first month of preparing for the World Race I became so overwhelmed and discouraged that I was sure I wouldn’t be going on this mission. Well, at my very moments of weakness, doubt and disbelief God once again revealed His strength and love through the most unusual way:

It started one afternoon with a facebook message, (naturally) …and then a phone call… a small, backyard Vacation Bible School wanted me to be the missionary they donated their pennies to at the end of their friendly competition. I was touched. Actually, I started crying in thankfulness that they wanted to bless me and support my journey!

This Vacation Bible School was far from ordinary though. I visited one day to share about the World Race and where I would be traveling to: I was blown away to see the entire event was run by young people!  This young family decided to split the responsibilities of the whole VBS and run it themselves so that young people could come hear the work of God! It was so incredible to watch! There must have been fifteen children there ready to learn and full of energy.

I walked away thinking, “even if I get ten dollars from this event, it was beautiful to see the young body of Christ functioning for His glory.” I was so thankful just to witness that fun-filled back yard that day and see young people doing great things!

After that week I received word that the coins were counted and the numbers were in; so I drove to that families house and picked up an envelope for…..(drum roll please)…. over 225 dollars!!!!!

…From a small, backyard Vacation Bible School just looking to share about Jesus Christ… mind blown. The part that absolutely melted my heart was hearing about little girls who ran home and cracked open their piggy banks and gave all they had. What a beautiful heart. Thank you.

so I wrote this in July and ever since then, that’s kind of how it’s been; little groups of people constantly blowing my mind.

Thank you.

Launch is coming up quickly and by God’s grace every deadline is being met. Slowly and steadily.
