Caminando en las calles de Palenque, siente como mi casa. (Walking around the streets of Palenque, I feel like I´m home). The smells of diesel, spicy goodness pouring from las taquerias and the pungent aroma of the surrounding poverty welcomed us into Palenque late last night. Latin America has always impressed me with its flavorful personality. The brilliantly colored buildings and loud music seem to hide us turistas from the fact that we stand out as gringos.
The race began this morning as the teams bolted up to the top of the tallest Mayan Ruin to get the winning photograph. Chris Telfer tried to beat the teams to the top so we could have some video footage, and he almost did! Then Eric Hanson saw him coming and although the media team isn´t officially racing, he still wanted to be the first to reach the top, so he picked up his pace too. It was neck and neck to the top and Eric won by the hairs on his nose. Lucky for us, Chris is in great shape and was able to still record the teams while he was running.
An hour later, the media team met at the top of the ruin and spent some time in prayer. As we prayed, I was overwhelmed with God´s glorious creation. There we sat, praising and beseeching the Lord of all that is good and beautiful in a place where human sacrifice and demon worship were apart of daily life.
God had put Isaiah 61:4 on Meagan´s heart just before:
They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.¨
The Lord has been greatly blessing us. With a 28 hour bus ride yesterday, our media team is full in spirit and health. Chris Youell posted a World Race Launch video on YouTube the other day. It hasn´t been posted to the World Race website yet, but you can view it at:

Tonight and for the next week of training here in Palenque, we are staying at a local escuela de la biblica. (Bible School). Continue to pray and support us. We are realizing that as the media team, we will need a lot more funds to support uploading and shipping footage to the states. If you know of anyone who has a heart for this ministry, encourage them to support and become apart of this!
I love you and thank you for supporting me!!
Hi mom and dad!
