Since Arriving in Uganda the presence of spiritual warfare has been very strong! Although, I didn’t realize how present it really was until I found myself right in the middle of our pastor casting out a demon in a woman who I had been giving a massage to few minutes earlier. All this happened the day after we arrived at the school/ orphanage we are working at for the month.
    Growing up I attended more of a conservative church and so I had never experienced this before. I know that spiritual oppression and possession is real but it becomes a reality when God places you right in the middle of it.

Matthew 10: 5-8

    Jesus sent out the twelve apostles with these instructions: “Don’t go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans, but only to the people of Israel-God’s lost sheep. Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast our demons. Give as freely as you have received!

     Over this past month my team and I have experienced a lot of casting out demons! God has placed us here for a reason and I know that God placed me here so that I could learn about spiritual warfare, to learn that I don’t need to be afraid of it. To know that when a demon is cast out in the name of Jesus Christ we have victoriously won over Satan and his evil attacks.
     Pastor Naboth our contact this month explained to me that when a person is being attacked spiritually they experience pain and they lose full control of themselves to the demon to where they can’t tell what reality is. 
     It’s amazing to witness the presense of God and to see good conquer evil. Satan has no power over you when you believe and put all your faith in God.

Romans 5: 1-2

     Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege were we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

      Back home I have never felt the presense of spiritual warfare as strong as I do here. But that doesn’t mean that is not there! Satan disguises it all the time. It’s everywhere and God has shown me that as Christians we need to be alert and ready to fight against it with his power. To not fear, but to stand strong in the faith we have in God. The name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is the most powerful weapon! 

     “Dear God I pray for the country of Uganda. I pray that you will lay your protection over it. I pray that you will enter the hearts of the people and continually cast out demons. Lord I pray that Satan will not have power here. That the people of Uganda would not live in fear but live in your freedom, love and grace. I pray that the people here would seek your will in all you do and live a life that glorifies you, in Jesus name Amen.”
