This is a letter I wrote when I was sitting day dreaming about what this next year will look like for me and what God has in store. I started to think about all the people I will meet and all of the situations I will find myself in. I am overwhelmed with how blessed I am to have such an incredible opportunity to travel to 11 countries to share the amazing love of Jesus to the orphans. When I say orphans I do not just mean the children I will encounter that have been abandoned with no parents and no place to call home. I mean all of the people that have yet to meet their beloved Father who is already calling them home.
Dear Orphans,
I love you and I will be seeing you very soon. You don't know it yet but your Father knows it. He has designed your very heart to long for a touch of His love. Where ever you are right now He is present. He is upholding you right now in the cold, in the dark, in the garbage dumps, ally ways, and wherever else you feel alone. He longs to bring you home and call you sons and daughters. He hears the cries of your hearts and wants nothing more than so see all the oppression in your lives corrected.
Once you meet your Father He will turn your mourning into gladness and suffering into joy. You will finally feel at home and any feeling of abandonment will be replaced with comfort and steadfast love. Your chains will be gone and your feet will walk in freedom to the point of dancing. You will know what grace and mercy feels like and whatever baggage burdens you it will be taken from you. Your Father sent his son to take away your sin stained clothes when He died to take your place. So that your stained and torn clothes could be traded in for a spotless white gown.
You will know soon that your Father can turn ashes into beauty and doesn't see what everyone else around you sees. He sees your heart and to Him it is beautiful. You are more precious than gold to him and He has such a meaningful journey planned out for you. He doesn't see you for the price tag put on your body, your lack of possessions, your crippled features or your past mess ups. He looks at you and sees His awesome handy work and spotless creation. He sees his child.
This next year I will call you my brothers and sisters and share with you Gods plan for you to be part of this awesome family. I know that because I will hold you little children and let you feel safe and loved, because I will tell you my dear sister your beauty does not come at a price that any man can pay, because I will use my hands to build you a home and a shelter, because I will clothe and feed you and walk distances to meet and pray with YOU and specifically you, that is how you will know the love of God. And because you will see and feel my love for you that is how you will know that I have been born of God !
I will strive to love you in deed and truth with my right hand while my left does not know about it. My prayer for you brothers and sisters is that when you encounter me you will have an encounter with our Father and know his steadfast love for you. That you won't be able to see me because you see so much light. Right now I do not know who you are or see you but I am confident that I already love you because of the one who already knows and sees you right now. I am praying for protection and healing for you already and that the Lord is preparing your hearts to be touched by His love, grace, and mercy.
My heart is already going out to you for the pain you feel now and the circumstances in your life. The privilege I have to see your lives transformed and touched by the Love of the Father will touch my heart. You will change me and shine in this world. We will be family 🙂
