Hello!
For those of you receiving this letter you are family, friends, or just someone that the Lord has put on my heart to send this to. It’s me, Jenny Kuehni! I am now 19 years old and live and work in Ottawa. I have been so blessed with amazing family and friends. With great support I have graduated high school, college, and now work full time doing what I love and making people feel great working at a nice salon here downtown! With that being said I feel way to comfortable living here and have experienced so much spiritual growth through the fellowship I have found at great churches here and have been lavished by the Love of your Lord in so many ways that I can proudly say my relationship with him is the best part of me. This past year there has been a call on my heart to go and so I will do nothing but obey! " whoever claims to live in him, must walk as Jesus did." 1 John 2:6
Call to missions
I have been very blessed so far to have gone on some missions trips already 2008- Madagascar 1 month 2010- L.A Dream Center short missions downtown. On these trips God did incredible work in my heart while radically showing me the need for the kingdom in all the nations. I soon realized that it doesn’t matter where you are, that we are all Gods children and he desires a relationship with each and every one of us! Sometimes it takes movement to realize that I am just as poor as the people who materially have nothing because seeing the faith and dependence they have for the Lord is refreshing and exciting. I was called this year to the missions field for many reasons and know that God is not just sending me for the people but also for the mission he has placed on my heart. There is no better time in my life to go and the many excuses not to go are far outweighed by the fruitful harvest this journey will bring!
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything i have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of this age!" Matthew 28:18-20
About The World Race
What the world race is all about you might ask? It is a journey to 11 countries in 11 months to serve "the least of these" while amongst real and raw community. It facilitates discipleship through the process of discovering into the abundant life He promised. It births partnerships with ministries around the world. I will be working anywhere from dealing with the sex trafficking issues in Asia, to simply showing the love of the father in the lives of orphans in Africa, and bringing the gospel to communities that are over 90% Muslim
This means devoting 1 year of my life to totally abandoning this comfortable life I have been blessed with and leave my family, friends, and possessions behind. Although I am only aloud 1 backpack I already feel prepared that the Lord will provide all my needs. The total cost of this trip is 15,500 which will include all my flights and food and accommodations for the 11 months on the field. As a racer I am expected to write in a blog once a week and that his how I will be able to communicate to you what the Lord is doing in my life and the lives of others. How you can be involved
The best way you can be involved with me in the journey is through prayer! I ask that you would keep this letter as a reminder to pray for this mission. Please pray for safety, spiritual guidance, divine appointments, for the countries and their governments in which I will be visiting and that daily more and more people will know the amazing Jesus Christ!
"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality." Romans 12: 9-13
Another way to support would be financially either through online or mail. The world race is very organized and has made it easy to monitor and manage these funds. You can simply donate online beside my blog where is says support or fill out the support card. Through the website it is very easy to keep in contact with me and send positive feedback my way as I’m moving around the world. I would love to get messages from all of you and stay encouraged while I am away! This trip will demand a lot from me for the next 2 years and I only ask that you consider helping me in two ways. The 1st is prayer! And the second things I ask is that you consider something in your life that you feel consumes a lot of your time and focus, something that is a want not a need, and something that makes you happy. Then I want you to give it up for 11 months and use the time and energy to then be spent with the Lord!! It could be a TV show, video game, food, or even a bad habit. That is my challenge for you and I would love to hear all about it!
