It has now been a week on the world race and wow it seems as though I have been here a month! There are so many different feelings with being in a new culture, getting to know my teammates who I already love(so thankful), and learning what it is to live life on a mission. It has been an incredible experience so far and am already learning a lot about myself the good and well the not so good! The place I am working is called Hub. It is a Christian college throughout the year and during the summer they hold camps. The people who work for this organization are so amazing! They work so hard but always manage to find time to laugh and sing. Oh the funny stories I have already lol. We are currently working at Camp Hope which is for children with disabilities. Yesterday during the special Olympics I couldn’t help but tear up watching these children. They are so full of joy and love. They are constantly smiling and it really fills me with an overwhelming feeling of love. I have always had a special place in my heart for these kids and this magnified it. Maybe it comes from my brother having disabilities and watching him and the way he loves unconditionally. He brings so much joy to my life and so many others. They are trulely a light!!! The kind of light we should all strive to be. God has already shown me so much in one week I cant imagine what I will learn in 11 months. The next deadline is September 30. If you would like to partner with me so I can stay for the full 11 months I would greatly appreciate it.
