In the last blog that I posted, I shared how I do not feel like the right
person to be called into the missions field.
After that post, I began to think about what paints the picture
of a missionary in my mind and how far off my heart actually is.
To help with this internal debate, I did a little bit of research.
( okay, so I went to dictionary.com… 😉 same thing right? ha. )
( okay, so I went to dictionary.com… 😉 same thing right? ha. )
I found that websters defines a missionary as
“mis·sion·ary"
noun ˈmi-shə-ˌner-"
plural mis·sion·ar·ies
Definition of MISSIONARY
: a person undertaking a mission
Simple enough, right?
So, when I think of myself, and The World Race…. I see that I do have a mission.
To Love All, Serve All, and Create No Sorrow.
You may have seen this posted in the heading of my blog page, on my facebook somewhere, or even tattood on my arm and wondered what it meant to me, why it was there, or what it stood for.
It is from a song that Trevor Hall wrote called Unity, and has been a motto for my life in many ways.
To expand on the phrase a bit, this is how it serves as a personal goal in my life:
Each day I wake up with the intention to:
Love all people equally, Serve all people and seek out areas of need that I can support, and Create no sorrow by refraining from judgemental, rude, arrogant, or disrespectful behavior.
This has been my life motto, and I've found that it ties in very well to the calling in my heart for missions work.
Though my personal definition of missionary will be ever changing, here is how I define it for myself today.

As I experience life on the field, I am certain that this will change.
I know that working in different countries to provide humanitarian aid
and spiritual support to others will not be just a cultural and educational experience for me.
It will redefine many words in my vocabulary.
I look forward to sharing with you the evolution of my heart as I learn to define
LOVE, FAITH, HOPE, DAUGHTER, FAMILY, PEACE and anything else that I have a
preconceived understanding of in my walk with God over the next year.
