Hey Everyone!
Welcome back to my World Race blog! It’s been a season where only by the grace of God I have walked out stronger. This past month the Lord has not only stretched me in areas of my life where I needed to grow more in Him, but also brought my family and I to a place where we needed to simply trust. About a month ago, my mom got diagnosed with Lymphoma. I won’t get into all the details, but I will say how God used this painful experience to rely simply on His sovereignty and ultimately glorify His name. For a moment, my mind was in a state of confusion. I mean, the reality was that with my mom being ill how could I take up the courage to leave her, (possibly enduring chemo) or joyfully telling friends & family of my new found journey through the World Race. Well, that’s where the trusting comes in. Weeks went by where everyone we knew reached out in support and prayers going up so that our Father would heal her from this illness. Being in a place of confusion on why this was all happening, brought me to my knees. It brought me to a place where I needed to trust that God’s way was so much better than mine. Whether it would be me flying to the other side of the world or helping my mom in Chicago, I just needed to trust that He was in control and knew exactly what He was doing.
Ladies and gentleman, in case you weren’t aware- we have a GOOD GOOD FATHER. By the power of prayer and the grace of our Lord, my mom was healed from this cancer. God has so clearly and powerfully moved at this time of our life. Our God is a God that heals, restores, redeems, loves, and so graciously brings us life just when we think the battle has been lost. Although, there are still a lot of things where I will have to continue to trust that God is in control, I would like to welcome you in stepping with me in rejoicing for my mother’s healing and my journey on the World Race.
After what seems a long fight, I have come out of a tiny (there will be more) growing season where I am now stronger in the Lord than I have ever felt before. I place once again my trust in Jesus that not only will He provide financially for my World Race but will do far more than I could ever ask or imagine.
