This is what our schedule looked like today. We had planned for 100 kids today and God blessed us with 200. We had an average of 15 kids per group with the largest groups being upwards of 24 each. The food was stretched, the kids shuffled around, and the schedule tweaked. All that can be said is welcome to kids ministry!
In all seriousness please keep my seven year olds in your prayers. I got an interpreter halfway through the day so the kids could begin to understand what I was trying to say through the Bible story. I have one little girl, named Meao who will not speak. She barely gives eye contact, and would not play any games. Anytime she was asked to participate she would cry. By the end of the day I had her carrying our team flag. I was really glad to involve her somehow. She has a scar from her ear halfway across her neck. I can feel the hurt on this child and all I can do is hold her hand and rub her back. Please pray that I can continue to love on her this week and that language will not be a barrier between us. Please pray that her wounded child heart can receive God’s love through us all this week. I would love to see this child blossom and come to know God as her father by the end of the week.
These are my kids! It is going to be an exciting week!
