Faith Like a Child

This past weekend, we put on our Dinner Theater Fundraiser at church with the help of many friends. An incredible friend of mine cooked food for around 100 people and planned nearly the entire night in hopes of helping to sponsor my trip. Let me just say that it ended up being a miracle right before my eyes. God has supplied me with over $3,000 in support through the Dinner Theater!! Incredible, right?

 

I’ve been on cloud 9 since Saturday night! I’m blown away by God’s faithfulness and the church’s willingness to give so abundantly! But, more than anything, I’ve been blown away by the little reminders from God…

 

Despite having plans to go to a baseball game for a local team here in Savannah, one of my old Sunday School kids decided to attend my Dinner Theater instead. After enjoying the food and watching all of the entertainment, he ran into my arms, barely able to breathe because he was talking so fast. He was telling me how much he believes in me and for me not to be afraid and to trust God…and just as soon as he would settle down a little and start to walk away, he would come right back and say again “I BELIVE in YOU!! Don’t be afraid!”

 

He’s got plans to sell some things to benefit my trip and raise some money He’s completely committed to doing what he can to make this happen for me. To me, this is even more incredible!

 

The support in my account…unbelievable! But the faith of a child who believes in God’s plans…that’s indescribable! It’s a small reminder, once again, that God’s got it all under control and completely knows what He’s doing. 🙂

 

I don’t know if he’ll ever realize how it impacted me and I can’t begin to explain how much the small words of encouragement, the laughter and the hugs meant to me! Its times like these that remind me how much I can still be taught by everyone around me, especially children. He said things that God’s been saying to me and had complete faith in his statements and in me.

 

The support…amazing!!! Faith like a Child…there aren’t words to describe the joy it brings me! 🙂

 

May we all be like little children in the ways we approach life and believe God for anything and everything! He IS our provider, our strength and the source of every need…now that’s refreshing!

 

I’ve got so many other stories about how this fundraiser alone has changed lives…God provided for me, yes, but met so many others where they are now…He’s working out His plans and using this trip before it even starts to speak to people about His love ALREADY! I’m simply blown away by His perfect timing and mercies! Ahhh, makes me wanna squeal! 😀
