My name is Jennifer Womack and I am a biology major at the University of South Florida. I always figured college was part of God’s plan for me, and while it still may be, I believe I am being led to leave college for a year and act as a vessel for God to work in this broken world. Because the truth is we do live in a broken world, but that doesn’t mean there is no hope left. God has placed a desire in me to go the mission field to spread this hope. I’m happy to say the opportunity to go has been placed in front of me.
Growing up I believed in God, and that Jesus died to save me from my sin, but I never really sought a personal relationship with him. Because of this I was lost for a while, as if I was running in circles without purpose. Eventually, by the grace of God, I came to realize how miserable I was and that all I had to do was seek Jesus and he would meet me where I was. After lots of prayer I began to understand I was put in this moment in time to draw closer to Jesus. Through this relationship he will work in me so I can share his love with those who need to be reminded of it as well as those who have never known it. I know I can’t help all the hurting people in the world, but with God’s guidance I can help one person at a time as He leads me.
Starting in September I will be attending a nine month mission trip to Guatemala, Botswana, and Malaysia spending three months in each place. Words can’t describe how excited, and nervous, I am for this trip. During the nine months, the squad I am on will be partnered with local churches and ministries to help work in orphanages, minister to people trapped in prostitution, and share the truth of the love and mercy Jesus offers to everyone.
My trip will cost $12,491 and I ask for your prayers and support to help me meet this goal. This money will cover all my field expenses for the full nine months. My financial deadlines are as follows:
$6,000 due by 5/22/2015
$9,000 due by 7/2/2015
$12,491 due by 8/21/2015
