A few days ago, Seth Barnes responded to an email through his blog site. He wrote about the pain in one’s life. I felt compelled, after prayer, to respond to this blog. It touched a special nerve in my system. It sounded so familiar.
It was a father’s love crying out for help for his daughter, Alicia.
This is what he wrote, “i am calling for my stepdaughter, please help asap. she is 7.5 months pregnant and has been under a doctor’s care on methadone maintenance, since she was on the methadone clinic when she became pregnant. two days ago she left her boyfriend’s house who became abusive and does not have anywhere to go. we lost our home in the storm and are in a small apartment caring for elderly parents. we put her up in a hotel for 2 days until we find help. she has to go to a meth clinic daily which is a 2 hour drive and has no transportation. she desperately wants help.
please help.”
My heart immediately broke. So often while on the streets, I would see pregnant women stuck in the bondage of drugs and abuse. And even more often, I have seen parents, mothers and fathers, not care about their children and leave them in the adversary’s hand, instead of leading them in the hands of our loving Father, who says that He will never leave us nor forsake us!
After responding to the blog, Seth emailed the dad with the reply, and he in turn responded with a short term contact number for Alicia. I called her immediately; she was busy. I called her back at the time she asked, and we ended up talking for quite a while. I was able to pour the truth into her through my own testimony.
At 26 years old Alicia is 34 weeks pregnant with her second child. She has a 9 year old son who lives in Kentucky, but is not sure where. My son was living in Kentucky at the age of nine too, and I didn’t know where either. God has since (years later) restored that relationship, which is my prayer for Alicia!!! She herself lives in Louisiana.
We then prayed together, and I gave her my number in hopes of talking with her more in the future. Afterwards, we hung up, and continued to pray for her.
Some great doors are being opened for Alicia. Someone else has stepped in to offer assistance, and has come up with some potential answers for housing and her baby.
Please visit Seth’s blogs to be updated on any advancement in Alicia’s help. There (or here) you too can respond with help or prayer for this precious child of God.
God orchestrates our lives in every way! He has set up several divine appointments through Seth’s blog site to help the faithful praying father of his
daughter, princess, and apple of his eye, Alicia!!!
