You’re sitting in an Ecuadorian church service, equipped with extremely limited understanding of the language, but you pick out one sentence you do understand from the entire 2 hr. service, AND it brings you to your knees. We were able to go to church for the first time this week and that one sentence for me during the sermon was Dios no cambia. God does not change. It was good to be reminded that despite how many different ways my circumstances are going to change throughout this race, and in life in general, our God does not change. I know these next 11 months are going to be scary, challenging, and out of my comfort zone, but please pray that God keep me in those uncomfortable places and in the midst of them that He would remove the fear, give courage, and keep me faithful as I desire to go out and be salt and light in the darkness. Please pray that He would give me the words and let me not keep silent the hope that’s found in Him…wherever He takes me this year.
