True story, I think that Sumbawanga is my favorite town that
we’ve stayed in in Africa. It’s surrounded by mountains, windy, great weather, beautiful people, laid back, and
everything is a short walk away. Ministry here has been great. We’ve been doing
door to door in two different village areas and then at night we’ve had a sort
of revival in the towns where we did door to door. It’s been a privilege to get
to go into people’s homes and pray for them and share the gospel. The revival begins with loud music and
dancing and then transitions to the churches children and adult choirs performing
(they can dance like no one else!) , and then the pastor and a couple of us
preach. Other than that we’ve been
speaking at schools, visiting an orphanage (YES!!!) , and speaking at church on
Sundays and Wednesdays. The church here
is beautiful, I love listening to them praise the Lord.

This past Friday was such a great day, a gift from the Lord. It was
our off day so we rented bikes and road them to one of the mountains and then
hiked up to the top! So great, so many of my favorite things, outdoors, bikes,
hiking, mountains, friends! Thank You Jesus! So, so good. The view from the top was
gorgeous, and here’s what I treasured
about it….. the silence. We live with the pastor and his family so there is
always a lot going on in the house, music playing, tv, kids running around,
friends over, etc. It was soooo good to sit up there with the Lord in silence!

For though the Lord is exalted, Yet He regards the lowly. But
the haughty He knows from afar.
Ps 138:6
So from the top of the mountain looking down at all of the
villages I got to thinking about the Lord’s perspective. How we often miss it
and even forget about it because we’re so focused on all of the little things
in our lives. His perspective is what we
so desperately need, to see things as the King sees them. He is the beginning
and the end, the I AM; the One that our souls were made to be satisfied in, our
life is about our journey with HIM. All of our journeys have been planned out
in detail by the Lord, and each step, each season, is designed to bring us
closer to Him.

Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book
were all written the days that were ordained for me, when yet there was not one
of them. Psalm 139:16

He is leading each of our lives, no matter how chaotic and
cloudy they may seem at the moment. He is in control, He is peace, He is good,
He knows the plan, the whole entire journey from beginning to end. He’ll never
leave you where you are, but will always be drawing you closer to Himself.
Enjoy Him. Trust Him to lead. The joy of life is walking
through it with the King.

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things
above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.Col 3:1-4

His perspective is life, and truth, and eternal.

pray for us this week as we’re traveling a lot to get to our debrief in Nairobi and then heading to Thailand on December3rd!
