My first thought upon entering Swaziland was BEAUTY. This is one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever seen. Where I’m staying in Nsoko we are surrounded on all sides by mountains and green as far as the eye can see. Typically when I think of Africa, mountains and lushness are not the first things that come to mind. But that’s the beauty of false expectations – when you actually experience the real deal you’re blown away. Outside our building where we sleep and live and eat there is a wooden cross. And if you have the opportunity to be out during sunset you’ll witness the wonder of the Lord’s creation with the cross in the foreground. And all you can do is fall to your knees at the majesty of the Lord. God is so good and wants to bless His people so much. But we are so stubborn and resist what He has for us. That’s what I’m working on now. Giving in to the Spirit and casting off the fear, the resistance, and the apathy that continually plagues me.
Here are some verses I am working on memorizing and praying over myself and my team:
John 3:34 “For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.”
Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
John 8:47a “Whoever is of God hears the words of God.”
Please join me in memorizing these verses and praying them over my team and me.
Thank you and I love you dearly!
