We were preparing to be on our way to Africa this time two weeks ago.  Twenty four hours before we were supposed to leave, protesting began in the Bangkok airport.  The airports were closed and we were told it could be anywhere from a day to a couple weeks before we would be able to leave.  The protesting at the airport went on for days and days turned into weeks, and the airline we had booked our tickets with could get us out of Bangkok, but could not get us to Johannesburg as we had originally planned.  The only place we could get to was London.  We were all very excited!  It turns out that we were able to find contacts in London, and we are going to be staying here through the new year.  What a blessing!  I get to spend my birthday, Christmas, and New Years in London! But, the most exciting part is the ministry that we are involved in here. We are doing city outreaches everyday and encouraging a local ministry here. We’ve been able to do so much already. We are currently going through training in order to help with this church’s evangelism efforts.  Next week we will move to help with more intense evangelism within the city.  The Christmas season helps open up many conversations about Jesus.  What a blessing!  My heart has been bursting with joy. None of us ever thought we’d be able to be a part of western culture while on the race. There are so many different cultures all in one place in London.  It’s a beautiful city, and I’m excited to be able to spend the month here!
