I’ve always wanted to put on a concert.  Who would’ve thought that I’d have my first opportunity in a coffee shop in Antigua, Guatemala!  My team worked to put together a benefit concert this past Saturday in order to raise funds for The Call, a national day of prayer in the US.  We will be hosting a prayer room with a satellite broadcast of the national prayer meeting in Washington, DC at the Higher Grounds coffee house on Saturday, August 17 from 8am-8pm.  The money we raised from the concert will go to defray the costs of putting on the prayer room Saturday.

I spent a lot of my days this past week preparing for the concert on Saturday. I played several songs on my guitar and was even able to get a keyboard to play for part of the time! (the piano part was my favorite)  I played praise songs as well as some songs I’ve written myself.  I think I may have found a new calling – we made about $80 in 2 hours.  This could possibly turn in to a weekend job back in the states! 🙂

I’ve posted the flyer that we handed out in Antigua all last week as well as photos from my debut event!
