Here are some photos of Antigua! We’ve been busy helping out at Hermano Pedro Hospital, at Higher Grounds coffee shop, and at Iglesia Del Camino. This week, we are preparing for The Call, a national day of prayer, on Saturday. Enjoy the photos!
This is the arch which crosses over one of the main streets in Antigua. On the weekends, the road is blocked off and people walk, play, shop and listen to live music being played in the street.
The ACTIVE Volcano that looms over Antigua. This photo was taken from an overlook that we hiked.
Beautiful ruins of churches and government offices are everywhere in Antigua!

The colors of Antigua are breathtaking. Here is one of the common modes of transportation – the moped!
Another common mode of transportation. For about 10 Quetzales (Guatemalan money = about $1.50 US) we can ride in a “tuk-tuk” to any destination in Antigua. These three-wheeled vehicles are called “tuk-tuks” because the engine makes a sound like tuk-tuk-tuk-tuk.
Here we are just outside Higher Grounds coffee shop.
The market. Food here is so cheap! We can get a pound of strawberries for 3Q which is about $.40 US, 6 tomatoes for 3Q, 2 cucumbers for 3Q, or a bunch of cilantro for 1Q which is about $.13 US. WOW!
More market photos. Wal-mart does not hold a candle to this place! You can buy everything you need and it is huge! Prices are so cheap because all the vendors compete with each other.
Some ladies selling beautiful woven fabrics on the streets of Antigua.
A beautiful photo of the arch.
