Hi friends! I just posted this to my team blog site as some encouragement… but I thought I would post it on here as well. It gives you a little glimpse into what God is doing with me right now. I’m sorry I’ve been so horrible at keeping up with blogging… but I’m going to try really hard to start doing more in the coming weeks! Thank you for all your support and love! You guys are awesome. 🙂

Hey fam!
It’s late… and I should be asleep… but I really felt like I wanted to share something with you all.
We’re
about to embark on a journey that will shape the rest of our lives. I’m
ecstatic about this some days… and other days I’m left feeling numb
with fear that my “to do” list is just too big to get done in the next
month and a half. However, I got some awesome encouragement today and I
wanted to spread the love with you. Honestly, God speaks to me through
email. 🙂 I signed up for Daily Bible Verses to be delivered
electronically a few years back and there have been more instances than
I can count when Jesus has directly and intimately spoken to me through
them. It’s such a gift. So yea, today was one of those days. In the
midst of feeling overwhelmed not only by the World Race but life in
general, this is what shows up in my inbox:
“Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your
great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”
I
know, I know… it sounds simple. We all know this. We’ve heard it a
million times before. But it just hit me in a new way today. There are
things going on all around me that feel too big to handle, and
sometimes too big to even think about. At times it’s draining to just
be in the world and at war with everything around me. But seeing this
verse today was like a deep sigh of relief that my soul has been
longing for. NOTHING is too hard for our God. Nada.
He freakin MADE the heavens and the earth with one arm! (Notice the
singular tense of the word there, lol. 😉 ) He can definitely provide
the means for ALL of us to go on this trip… and then some. No, and
then A LOT. He has NO LIMITS. God is about to rock us all.
I
was talking to someone at church a few months back and what he said
really stuck with me. He said that God wants us on the mission field
EVEN MORE than we want to be there ourselves. Whoa. Of course that’s
true… but it was just a new perspective. I want to be there… a lot.
I want to be His hands and feet. I want to love on people as HE has
loved us. But ya know what?! Jesus wants that EVEN MORE. Because He PUT
that desire in our hearts. Our hearts are formed after His own. So if
HE is the One who has orchestrated all of this… by golly, He’s gonna
make it happen! I think sometimes He just likes to keep us on our toes
so we truly have to trust in Him and be fully dependent. He likes to
surprise us. He’s a good Dad. 🙂
Another verse is
sticking out to me right now that I think is extremely fitting for all
of us. It has to do with tithing. When we give ourselves (and our
possessions) to God, He is faithful to blow us away in return.
“‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my
house. Test me in this,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and see if I will not
throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that
you will not have room enough for it.'” – Malachi 3:10
Praise GOD for that!! Oh my goodness… more blessing than we can even contain?! SWEETness!! Bring it on, Jesus!! He can do it… and He will.
Put your seat belts on folks… cause we’re about to see God take off
with us on a WILD ride. Isn’t it exciting to follow such an adventurous
God?! I love it.
So
yea… that’s about all I have to say about that (props to Forrest Gump
😉 ). I just read that verse and thought of all of you. Mi familia. Be
encouraged! Hold on to hope. Trust in the LORD with all your heart!
Taste and SEE that He is GOOD. I cannot wait to meet all of you and
hear how God has rocked you in the past month. 🙂
