Today is our last day in Ireland.  We leave for Romania bright and early in the morning.  I am still in disbelief that month 1 is already done.  Overall it was a good month, with lots of growing, stretching, tears, laughter and rain.  Lots and lots of rain.  I never thought a country could have so much rain.  Let me tell you, I am SO not sad to leave the rain.

Here is a random list of some of the things I have done this month:
*ate an entire apple (well minus the stem and the “butt”)…you’re not part of Unwritten if you haven’t ate an entire apple
*ate kiwi skin.  Surprisingly fantastic.  I’ll never eat a kiwi another way.
*wore my rain jacket every single day.
*slept in a tent for a record number of nights (seeing as though the number was 3 nights in a row, this wasn’t very difficult to beat).  It is actually not as bad as I thought it would be minus the rain and wind.
*watched You’ve Got Mail in my tent.  Probably one of the most relaxing things ever.  No joke.
*attended a Brazilian BBQ.  Pretty fun especially since I’ve been to a Brazilian BBQ in Brazil.
*had worship services in a local pub.
*baked an amazing cake.  I hate cake but this was amazing.  Don’t worry, I have the recipe and will be replicating it along with the absolute amazing chocolate chip cookies we made (that poor Dan and Beks never got).
*Irish danced.  Definitely not as good as my cousin Emily but it was really fun.
*listened to the winner of Irish Idol.
*ate a tortilla with pulled chicken, curry sauce and mashed potatoes.  It’s an Unwritten original…not Irish at all.
*had a sip of Guiness beer in a straight up Irish pub.  (I don’t like Guiness but I had to at least take a sip of somenoe’s to say I did it.)
I feel completely blessed to have spent 3 weeks in Ireland.  God’s beauty surrounds us on a daily basis..from my morning runs along the Atlantic Ocean to a visit to the Cliffs of Moher to the smile of a small Irish girl with red curly hair.  I am so thankful that I was able to vist the country where my ancestors are from and to be apart of what God is doing in Ireland.

We aren’t certain but we will probably be without internet for the next month or so while we are in Romania.  Please be praying for us as we work with the gypsies, the children and minister to our host families.  Also pray for my team as we learn how to live as a Christ centered family and grow together.

 Big hug to you all.

P.S.  10 points to whoever can name the movie that the title of this blog post is from.
