My team, Unwritten, is made up of 7 individuals. You may have seen my video from training camp…if not, check it out to meet these fabulous people. The two I want to focus on is Chad and Leslie…the Jowers…the married couple of Unwritten.
I can not describe to you how spending 10 days with this couple has made them feel apart of my family. Chad takes on the role of another one of my funny brothers…always telling jokes and keeping everyone laughing. He also is protective of his family and makes sure everyone is safe, sane and encouraged. Leslie is like my much wiser and much more motherly sister. She is right there when you need a hand rolling a sleeping pad or carrying firewood and she’s always there to sit and listen if you need someone to talk to. Leslie and I figured out we both tend to click better with guys than girls but God clearly knew what He was doing because we definitely clicked. I am certain we will be sisters for life.
So now that you know a little background of the Jowers let’s get serious. The Jowers are in desperate need of finances. With two of them their need is double the need of mine and they are still in need of $25,000. That’s a lot of money. But when God holds the checkbook, no amount is too much. When all of my donations show up in my account I should only need about $2,000 more. God has been faithfully providing for me and I am trusting that He will continue to do so. Because of this, I would like to ask you…If you are someone who was still planning on donating to me, would you prayerfully consider donating it to the Jowers instead? Or if you are an individual who has already provided financial support to me and God is putting it on your heart to help the Jowers as well, would you? Any little bit helps. Our team will continue to trust that God will provide the necessary funds for all of us to go on the World Race unless He shows us a different path. Please help.
And since I had such an amazing response of concerned people trying to find a home for Buddy I have another request. This one is a bit more difficult. The Jowers have a beautiful home in Wellford, SC that they need to sell before they leave on the race. Let me remind you, the clock is ticking…we are down to 27 days before boarding the plane for Ireland. This house needs to sell fast. Here is the website with all of the information. If you happen to know some moving to South Carolina or you know somebody who already lives in South Carolina, please pass this on to them. The more people who know about this gem of a house, the better.
The last thing each and every single one of you can do is pray. Pray for Chad and Leslie to be encouraged daily, pray they are trusting God and staying faithful, and pray for this to strengthen their marriage and their relationship with Christ. Pray that their house sells, their upcoming fundraisers (tomorrow and this weekend!) to do well and the funds come in.
