Well, this month certainly didn’t go as planned…yet, not having a plan was the plan 🙂 We made it to Vietnam, and enjoyed our time there so much. We were able to slow down, turn inwards to continue to invest in the relationships within our team, and He even blessed some local relationships as well. We found Vietnam to be full of beautiful people, friendly smiles, and abounding in a culture all its own! So, here are some photos so you can see Vietnam through our eyes…
Finally, Dalat!!
Yep, this is all i brought to Vietnam! For the two weeks we were
in Vietnam, i had 1 pair of pants, 2 shirts, pjs, and 1 pair of shoes,
only as many toiletries as would fit in a zip lock bag! Simple.
We arrived in Dalat at 5 am…this was our first view of the lake Vietnam is famous for silk. Here displayed in a silk store
Vietnam is the second largest exporter of coffee. Here we are buying some local beans. On the right is a traditional coffee filter. The coffee drips down into the cup and comes out like motor oil! Similar to a shot of espresso. Asking for milk means they put a bit of sweetened condensed milk in the bottom of the cup before the dripping begins…stir and enjoy 🙂
Believe it or not, this is not a painting…it is an embroidery. On the right, is a girl hand stitching flowers onto a piece of silk that will probably become a beautiful traditional Veitnamese dress, called an Ao Dai.
Above is Diem, a woman who has a booth in the market. On Mother’s day we bought flowers and walked around town
We would go buy every couple of days and chat with her. handing them out to women. It was really fun!
It was here that i was introduced to my new obsession, artichoke tea.
Experiencing V ietnamese food!! Pho was my favorite..it is like noodle soup with beef and an amazing flavorful broth.
