Recently on a road-trip back to Tennessee from visiting family in Illinois the Lord spoke to me about His faithfulness from season to season. I was with a friend from work. As we were diving I could not help but notice all of the trees completely bare with no leaves on them. I thought to myself how faithful God is. Because although there are no leaves on the trees now, we all know that the season is coming where they will bloom again and be even more beautiful. A fruitful season is coming where people can come and rest under the trees and rest in their shade. A fruitful season is coming where some people can literally come and eat from the trees.

The Lord then began to speak to me how we are the same way. There are some seasons where we will provide much fruit and be a shelter for many people. There are also some seasons where God calls us to step back and die to a few things. Although they were good for a season, we are not to remain in that place. There is much more for us. We are called to go from Glory to Glory. In the secret place our spirit man feels a burden for something more, there is something new on the horizon. But first there are some things that need to be removed. Ask the Lord what those things are. This is a time when we sit back, learn to say no more often. Because the Lord is calling us higher. He desires for us to come and rest with Him in this season, so when He launches us into the new thing we are rested and ready to go. Work out of that place of rest and intimacy with the Lord. In that place where we bloom again people will look at us and see the Lord’s faithfulness in us. We will be built up with a new charge, a new commission. People will be able to come and be fed. Because we said “yes” in that place where we were uncomfortable, but all we wanted was more of Jesus and that is why we said “yes”.

This is where I feel I am. I am in a place where the Lord is bringing up some things to take them out of me so He can give me something beautiful. In this place of transition I have stepped back from a few things to focus more on where I am going.

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! Hebrews 12:1-3 MSG

I cannot help but to think of this scripture. He never lost sight of where He was headed. Of course for Christians we are headed to spend eternity with Jesus. But where are we headed now, in this temporary place where are we headed. What are our short term goals? For me personally I am Headed to go on the adventure of a lifetime with Jesus to 11 different nations in Asia. I am in a place of transition and the Lord is preparing me for it. To be honest with y’all it is not a comfortable place. It is a place of excitement, testing, worry, and more excitement. But I say “yes” to it all. All I want is more of Jesus and to look more like Him in this place. So wherever I go people do not see me for not having a degree, but they see me like they saw Peter and John in Acts 4. They noticed they were just ordinary men, but recognized they have been with Jesus.

Jesus use me and my friends reading this to be used wherever it is you plant us. Wherever we are we will bloom and feed a hungry people. People who do not know you would be drawn to us, because they see something special, they see the face of God. God in those places of transition, give us the strength and endurance to say”yes” no matter what the cost is. All we want is you Jesus. Here I am, send me to be the face of Jesus everywhere I go.
