Do you ever have those times when God is trying to tell you something that you just aren't hearing; whether you don't believe Him or you just don't want to hear what He has to say, so instead you hear it fr everyone else?
And I mean everyone or anything…
a friend
A sermon
a song
A random person you have a conversation with
God always finds a way to get through to His children.
The story of the Prodigal son keeps coming around. We all know the story in Luke 15. A man has two sons and the younger one demands his inheritance, leaves home and squanders it all. He is desperate and hungry so he returns home with the intention of becoming a servant on his fathers land. Instead, his dad greets him with a kiss and throws a huge feast with the fattest calf. The part that sits with me is the older son. He doesn't understand the celebration and gets upset. He has done all that his father has asked of him without complaint and he never got a feast.
But his dad says, "Son you are always with me and all that I have is yours." He just never asked.
How many times do I just not ask my Father? All that He has is mine, I just have to let Him give it to me. Fully letting God love me is hard. Admitting that I have messed up and still being showered with grace and love in return by God…I don't get it. It's so good, but I can barely begin to comprehend it. Gods love is so much bigger and better than the best I could ever imagine. That's crazy!
But it's the truth.
and that is my Father.
While I've been in South Africa He continues to teach me that His grace is sufficient for me. There is nothing I can do to outrun His love and that is so good to rest in. God will always be there, waiting to throw us a party when we finally come home.
I am having the greatest time so far on my race. I have raised $9000 so far which is ridiculously awesome but I still have $2000 more to raise to continue on this journey. Would you please prayerfully consider supporting me? No amount is too small. Thank you so much to all of you who continue to support me and who have gotten me this far. It has been an amazing adventure and I'm so excited for all that is yet to come.
Bleasings!
