God has been teaching me SO much the last month. I am overwhelmed by His greatness. His beauty. His faithfulness. I’ve been humbled. I’ve been shown His grace in new ways. Most importantly, I’ve been loved!
Love – such a powerful word and so often misused, misrepresented. God’s love is deeper. God’s love is unconditional. Physical love can hurt. God’s love redeems.
The way my life has been this past year as taken me back to the basics. I’ve fallen in love all over again. Not with someone here on earth – although that would be nice, one day – but with my best friend. I’ve fallen in love with Jesus!
The one thing that has never changed no matter what I have done or others have done, is God’s love. When all is said and done, His love is what matters most. Do we love Him? Do we love others like He loves us? Do we love ourselves? Do we love things above all things?
Life is too short and should not be full of regrets. We need to live life and make the most of it. We need to show the world what matters most – LOVE! But how? Start by falling in love with God. Love others. Smile. Laugh. Care. Show grace. Sometimes the smallest, simplest action can bring joy to another person’s life. Don’t hold back. We need love.
Recently, I lost a loved one. I am hurting. I am grieving. I am also rejoicing because I know he is with Jesus and I can celebrate his life and know that I will see him again one day. As much as it is hard, I can’t complain. He loved me. He was loved. He was shown his love and couldn’t have been happier. I could not imagine death without love, without hope – yet, far too many people have no hope, no love. They’ve never been or felt true love.
It’s time to stand up, step out and live out love. Really, it’s not that hard. Get over yourself. Reach out. Get off the couch. Trust God. Let Him lead you. We are commanded to love – so why do we find it so hard? What are we afraid of? Getting hurt? Christ loved and died for us because he loved us – he was willing to suffer because he loved us. Are we willing to hurt because of our love for Him? Let’s love and make this world a better place. Let’s show everyone what matters most – LOVE!
