When you hear discovery, what do you think of?
Endless possibilities. New Beginnings. Excitement. Adventure. Knowledge.
These are some of the things that come to my mind when I hear the word. However, when there is the call to discover something unknown it brings a certain level of fear…
The Lord has been showing me new things to dive into and discover about Him. There is so much about the kingdom and about Him that I will spend the rest of my life discovering. Several times in the Bible, it talks about the mystery of the message. Paul constantly talks about this mystery made known to him.
I’m sure for many reasons, there are things we do not understand. I believe one is to protect us. But as I study more of the Word I see and experience the excitement that comes with discovery. We build up faith searching and seeking the answers. There is so much to unfold and piece together about the mystery of our Lord, and so much understanding to come.
Proverbs 2:1-5
“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding – indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”
Who doesn’t like a treasure hunt? God has set up the most exciting/adventurous life for us by simply being. He is a mystery. His character is worth going to the depths to unveil. In Him our treasure lies, our hope, eternal life!
Whoever thinks following Jesus is boring hasn’t truly experienced following Him. The stories I’ve read about what Jesus did during His time on earth and the way He led His disciples, I know I would have peed pants constantly stepping into what Jesus asks them to do.
Funny thing is, I am living that life! I am constantly on the edge wandering and wondering to find who He is and what life with Him really is like. The best part is, I have peed my pants quite a few times. Just goes to show what a good time Im having.
There is so much to uncover! We all have a part in discovering the mystery that we will one day know in full.
I will hopefully be making multiple blog entries of what the Lord is unveiling to me as I discipline myself to go on a quest of Discovery!
