Well it really is true when they say that you never know what the Lord has planned for you, but it is also really true that he is so very good! Good you might think? What can be good about backpacking through eleven countries wearing the same five outfits and sleeping on the floor for eleven months? I thought the same thing…
Actually to be honest… sometimes I still think the same thing…but I know the Lord will use this experience and this trip for his glory! There are going to be so many opportunities for healing and for joy, for pain but for growth. It is going to be challenging, but I am embracing this new opportunity with an open mind, ready for the Lord to work in ways I can not understand.
In fact I don’t understand. I’m not sure at sometimes why God would choose me for this experience. I have trouble praying out loud. I have a hard enough time sleeping in 78 degrees, let alone a 90 degree tent. I sometimes get scared sharing the Gospel with people. I struggle with control issues, and have trouble staying calm in stressful situations. But when I truly think about it, I don’t want to keep “waiting” until I’m ready to share the Gospel, because really, I will never be 100 percent ready. The time to go is now!
So although I’m absolutely terrified, and have no idea what I’m going to do when I’m staring poverty, sickness, and tragedy in the face, I have faith that the Lord will use me as he wills, and that, yes, He is good!
“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
-Mark 16:15
And so off I go, with a team of about fifty members (I’m guessing) on our route. We will be visiting eleven different countries and spending one month in each. Our route contains:
The Ivory Coast Ghana Burkina Faso India Nepal Cambodia Thailand
Honduras Belize Guatemala El Salvador
As expected, I’m going to need a TON of prayer support, so please subscribe to my blog and follow my journey!
I also need financial support, as my fundraising goal will cover food, lodging, and travel for my eleven month journey. Please prayerfully consider donating! These funds go to Adventures in Missions, the company responsible for the World Race and will be used solely for this trip!
You can doante here on my blog on the internet with a debit or credit card, or if you would prefer to mail a check you can.
All donations are tax-deductible and non refundable.
Checks should be made out to Adventures in Missions and clearly state the purpose of the gift and should include my name!
They can be mailed to:
Adventures in Missions
PO Box 742570

Thank you all so much for your support and for taking the time to read about my journey.
