Mostly, I wrote this blog to fulfill the promise that I would. I temporarily deactivated my Facebook account, and unless you live in Memphis, that pretty much means I've fallen off the face of the planet to you.
This week has been a little rough emotionally.mThe squad that I originally planned to be on has arrived in their first country, and as I read blogs of their first experiences with ministry there, my heart is hurting.
However, I am confident that I am where God has me for now, and that this is where I need to be. He has burdened my heart for Memphis, and I look forward to this next year of loving and serving this city well. I believe the Lord has burdened ny heart for the nations, but for this year, my focus is on my own city. Yep, I'm gonna be a little bit biased 😉
Starting in August, my life will be a little chaotic. I'll continue working my full time job as a preschool teacher during the week, and I'll begin a discipleship training institute in Memphis, called Downline Institute, Emerging Leaders. I'll be taking classes 3 days a week, studying Scripture in depth, learning how to become a leader, and other things like that. The best way I've discovered to describe it to people is like a mini seminary, but not as intense. I'll have a mentor and mentor group to keep up with, along with serving my city and studying, so I'll certainly be staying busy. This year will go by so quickly.
Please pray with me, that God would continue to guide and direct my steps over the next few months. He is doing so much in my heart and life lately, and I've caught myself getting overwhelmed. I just want to please Him and do as He leads, but I need a divine wisdom about the next steps to take. July 2013 World Race routes will post mid September, so please be praying that God would begin to show me which route I need to join.
I will continue to remain off Facebook until October 1st, so be sure to subscribe for blog updates! I haven't been as faithful in doing them as I had intended, but am going to work on writing more frequently. I want and need you to be aware of the things God is teaching and showing me!!
I think about many if you often, and pray that things are going well in your lives. Please feel free to comment below or email me if you need prayer or just want more frequent updates from me! As much as I'm loving not haing a Faceook because it's forcing me to reach out to people, I miss the encouragement and smiles and such. I love each of ou, and am excited to see all that God does in and through you.
