This is going to be a fun photo blog. Just in case you were wondering. 🙂
I’ve been 22 for nearly a month now. And what a wonderful day October 6th was! My birthday was of epic proportions, and I’m so thankful that I was able to spend it with my team. It started with the most marvelous breakfast ever: french toast with apple/grape syrup, oatmeal, fresh grape and orange juice with pineapple pieces, hash browns. Delicious, and a 5 star meal anywhere, especially on the Race.

Krystle played guitar and my team sang to me. I got my hair curled, which was a fun change. I was given a bracelet and one of those fun punch balloons (which quickly became both the best and most annoying present ever to exist).

We went into Targu Mures to do ministry for the day and I spent the afternoon on the medical university campus speaking with students and inviting them to church. It was a beautiful, peaceful day. It felt like home, actually. As I sat on a bench in the park in the front of campus, as I watched the students walk by in groups and chatter and laugh, I felt at peace. Ruth, Christian and I took a lot of pictures and had a fun time.

Beauty for Ashes and WALDO went out to dinner; I had pizza and it was delicious! Both teams loved me so well and made my birthday special. I even got tiramisu before heading back home for the night. When I arrived back at the house I found a paper chain decorating the kitchen and a birthday card, along with a homemade cake topped with rose petals. It ended with my team watching Aladdin together.
My team knew how to bless me so well that day. My main love languages are gifts, and quality time. I got both in abundance for the week leading up to my birthday.

Recap of the week of my birthday:
It still blows my mind how much the Lord blessed me during my birthday. Funny how that works; I gave him all my expectations and fears, and he gave me the best week of my life. So many things worked out simply perfectly, that it astounds me.
A few of us took a day trip to see a Romanian castle

I went to a Targu Mures orchestra concert
Our contact was given free tickets and he blessed us with them!

I saw a Targu Mures versus Targu Jiu soccer game

I attended a traditional Hungarian wedding
It was for the daughter of our village's pastor

I visited the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, aka Dracula

I saw the most beautiful sunset in my entire life

I spent a day in a gypsy village and played with adorable children

Basically, it was a fantabulous week.
I’m also grateful beyond words. I checked my support account, and on my birthday, someone anonymously donated $1000! Say WHAT?! Thank you, a million times over. Whoever you are, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Support update: I'm at about $10,500! Praise the Lord! Thank you everyone for a wonderful birthday. I feel loved, and celebrated.
Matthew 7:11 became so true to me this week.
"If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"
He is a loving, gracious, and generous Father, to be sure.
